Chelsea have completed singing with jamie gittens from Dortmund

πŽπ…π…πˆπ‚πˆπ€π‹: Chelsea have completed the signing of Jamie Gittens from @Borussia_Dortmund, on a contract until June 2032. 

The 20-year-old arrives at Stamford Bridge having earned valuable experience in both the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League, recording well over 100 appearances for the German side since making his debut. He has also been capped at Under-21 level for England. 

𝐎𝐧 𝐣𝐨𝐒𝐧𝐒𝐧𝐠 π‚π‘πžπ₯𝐬𝐞𝐚: “It feels great. It’s a great feeling to join such a big club as Chelsea. “I can’t wait to learn from everyone in the team and to push myself to the max here. It’s an amazing feeling.” Gittens made the move to Germany from Manchester City in 2020 and quickly established himself as part of the first-team squad at Signal Iduna Park. He made his debut late in the 2021/22 season before having a breakout campaign the following term, netting his first senior goal in August of that year. Gittens featured heavily across the Bundesliga, the Champions League and the DFB-Pokal, making 20 appearances and scoring three goals.

The following season, he registered 10 goal contributions in 34 appearances across all competitions. Gittens continued to impress for Dortmund during the 2024/25 campaign with 17 goal contributions across all competitions, before featuring for the German side in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Sanchez - 4 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 - 5: First dangerous shot on goal and he has his positioning completely wrong. Cucurella - 8.5: Didn’t invert today, but was an absolute rock at the back. Chalobah - 7: Very solid defending and won all of his aerial duels.  Colwill - 7: Did very well at the back and like Chalobah also won all aerial duels. Advanced the ball very well. Gusto - 7: Quite sloppy at times, but did produce the winning goal. Inverted role doesn’t suit him. Santos - 7: Good first start. Tackling and duel ability is impressive. Nkunku - 5.5: Wasn’t really involved and lacked will and passion.  Palmer - 8.5: Trademark goal from him and contributed well to the attack. Neto - 7.5: Very difficult game for him, given Jota’s unfortunate passing. Crossing and dribbling was very sharp and was unlucky to not contribute to a goal. Enzo - 7: Good game. Didn’t really stand out, but didn’t put a foot wrong too. Delap - 5.5: Silly booking, going to miss the next game....
